In fact, if equipped with the cap with airlock 1-way mini-fermenter, the 54 L demijohn is perfectly suited for fermentation operations. This article is made up of two parts: the internal one is represented by the actual container, a round-shaped glass ampoule with a capacity of 54 litres, smoky, uvag or medium white in colour. The exterior of the demijohn is made up of a basket-shaped soft plastic shell that covers the glass part. Equipped with handles, this basket has the fundamental task of protecting the glass container from possible impacts during storage and transfer operations from one environment to another.
 
The neck of the 54 liter beer demijohn culminates in a 5 cm diameter mouth, equipped with a plastic cap, which facilitates decanting operations and allows the drink to be bottled into smaller containers.
